Arriving at Capps Cove is like coming upon a hidden 19th century settlement. Shaded grounds and well-tended gardens connect a cluster of handcrafted buildings — a secluded retreat created a decade ago by Cason, Sybil and Cindy Capps, and reflecting their love of antiques and simple pleasures. Historical architecture with contemporary amenities.

There are several locations in this 21-acre cove that are perfect for a destination wedding. A white picket fence welcomes you to the small wedding chapel with an antique pump organ. A big red barn can be the setting for a rustic wedding or an elegant reception. And there is a beautiful spot to say your vows under an arbor on the lawn overlooking the Blackburn River.

The playhouse is a comfortable venue where people often gather for receptions and smaller events. And for your honeymoon or guest needs, we have two quaint cabins that offer private lodging with fireplace, outdoor grill, microwave, refrigerator, complimentary snacks, and a continental breakfast basket.

The grounds are here for you to enjoy – take a quiet walk by the river, sit on a cabin porch and breathe fresh mountain air and the fragrance of big leaf magnolias. Capps Cove is a place where wonderful memories are made.

Capps Cove is the perfect wedding destination to start a new life together or renew your vows. It's a nostalgic retreat to a simpler time – an uncommon North Alabama destination wedding venue with lodging near Gadsden, and just a short drive north of Birmingham.
